    Fredrik ble satt i lære hos lensmann Hansen. Han rykket snart opp som fullmektig, og i 1801 overtok han embedet etter sin prinsipal. Han satt som lensmann til 1823. I lensmannstid opplevde han den såkalte «barkebrødtiden». Landet var blokkert, de t ble dårlig både med penger og mat. Befolkningen var til dels avhengig av grevens forråd av korn osv. Det ble visstnok også lensmannens oppgave å fordele de tilgjengelige forråd. Jeg gjengir et brev som tyder på det:

    Etter at Fredrik Chr. O. M. Blichfeldt sluttet som lensmann, bodde han en kort tid i Holmestrand, men flyttet så til Drammen og bosatte seg der. Han kjøpte en liten eiendom på Tangen, matr. nr. 355 for 500 Spd. og søker og får borgerskap i Dramme n den 31.1.1825 og begynte en «høgerbutik», men døde 1 år senere, 29.5.1826, og ble begravet på Tangen kirkegård, visstnok der hvor kirken nå står.

    Etter mannens død satt Madam Maren Kristine igjen med 5 gutter, hvorav 3 var ukonfirmert. Hennes ærgjerrighet og dyktighet kom nå til nytte. Hun ga dem sikkert en god oppdragelse og utdannelse, men fikk også den glede å se sine sønner bli fremtredende samfunnsborgere. Madame Blichfeldt skal ha vært en vakker og staselig dame, men litt for storslått i flg. sønen Olaus Blichfeldt.

    Som nevnt under eiere ble det residerende kapellani i Ramnes opprettet i 1767, i henhold til et reskript av 2. mars 1742. Krakken ble nå kapellangård, også kalt prestegård. Året etter ble Sulutvedt utvist til presteenkesete. Sognepresten forplikte t seg til å avgi sin bygselgård til Krakkken avgiftsfri, til å utrede i årlig lønn til kapellanen 80 rdl og å avstå annekssognenes konfirmanter til ham. For øvrig ble sogneprestens rettigheter og inntekter uforandret. Da kapellanene etter en tid forlot bygda og som oftest ble utnevnt til sogneprester i andre bygder, blir de her omtalt ganske kortfattet. Det var vanlig for sogneprester og de residerende kapellaner at de ved sin tiltredelse forlangte besiktigels e over bygningene, for å gardere seg mot seinere åbotsfall, som følge av dårlig vedlikehold. Den avgående prest eller hans dødsbo skulle erstatte ettermannen det som det ville koste å utbedre manglene. Faye forlangte slik besiktigelse i 1779. Den ble holdt 31. mai. Mouw hadde latt foreta store forbedringer på gården, hevdet hans forsvarer.

    Han ble innsatt i Christiania Chatedral Skole, hvorfra han demittertes til akademiet i 1738. Deretter var han huslærer hos en fornem kjøpmann, Peder Leuch, i 4 år (Leuch var en av Christianias rikeste og mest ansette handelsmenn), hvoretter ha n dro til København for å studere teologi. Etter endt presteeksamen kom han til presten Vogelius i Asker og ble der til 1746. Var så en kort tid huslærer hos oberstløytnant von Koss og fikk så ansettelse som personellkapellan hos sogneprest Fredr ik Engelstrup, Hof i Jarlsberg i 1751. Etter Engelstrups død i 1756 ble han personellkapellan til Skoger hos herr Hammer, og giftet seg med datter av sogneprest Engelstrup. Sogneprest Hammer stod i intim forbindelse med grev Wedel-Jarlsberg og de n nye kapellan forble siden i grevens tjeneste. I 1762 utnevnte r greven ham til residerende kapellan til Ramnes i Jarlsberg. På eiendommen «Krakken» ble det bygget ny prestebolig til ham, og denne ble senere brukt som prestegård helt ti11918 , da den ble solgt av Staten til Ramnes kommune og er nå hvilehjem for gamle. I 1777 ble han utnevnt til sogneprest i Lardal og flyttet dit samme år. Sognepresten levde resten av sin tid i Lardal. Etter at han hadde tatt avskjed som prest, flytte t han til «enkesetet Rosa», som lå i Hem sogn. Her hadde han 200 Spd. av Staten og naturalia av gården.

    Han ble begravet på Svarstad kirkegård, hvor han har sitt navn på en minnetavle som henger i kirken. I kirkeboken for Lardal viser det seg at han hadde 2 sønner og 4 døtre. Alle døtrene døde som barn. Hans 1. sønn Johan, ,"som er vel utstyrt med gode evner», døde mens han studerte teologi i København.

    Ole Jørgensen Holst var lensmann fra 1775 - 1801. Han lånte 300 rdl. i 1776 av lensmann Timand Rogstad. I 1781 ble det under Stufsrød, Odderød og Hvittingsrød liggende sagbruk solgt til kjøpmann Hans Jørgen Blom i Holmestrand for 360 rdl.

    Ved skiftet etter Ole Jørgensen Holst i 1803 ble gården taksert til 1600 rdl. Nettoformuen utgjorde 2143½ rdl. Blandt løsøre nevnes 2 sølv spiseskjeer med årstallet 1730, verd 2 rdl. 3 ort. Det sies at skogen på Stufsrød var av "meget ringe betydn ing". Bygningene var forfalne.
